Tiotropium beneficial in some patients with poorly controlled asthma

Addition of tiotropium (Spiriva—Boehringer Ingelheim, Pfizer) provided sustained bronchodilation and reduced asthma exacerbations in patients with asthma who have frequent exacerbations and persistent airflow obstruction despite being treated with inhaled corticosteroids (ICSs) and long-acting beta agonists (LABAs).
