Meningococcal booster needed at age 16 years to increase duration of protection


Results of a case-control study published online in Pediatrics showed that vaccine effectiveness of a single dose of meningococcal ACWY conjugate vaccine in adolescents appeared to decrease over time, with the lowest rate of protection observed toward the end of the study, from 3 to 8 years after vaccination.
