Lipophilic statins associated with decreased risk for Parkinson disease
KEY POINT
In patients taking statins for cholesterol-lowering therapy, continuation of a lipophilic statin was associated with a lower incidence of new-onset Parkinson disease (PD) as compared to statin discontinuation, especially in female and older adult subgroups.
