New guideline says stop exenatide, but sitagliptin okay in diabetic gastroparesis

KEY POINT

In individuals with gastroparesis, liquid metoclopramide should be the prokinetic agent of choice, according to a recent clinical guideline. In patients with diabetes and gastroparesis, clinicians should target glycemic control and discontinue diabetes medications that may slow gastric emptying.
