Statins in older adults: Less is more
KEY POINT
Statin use for primary prevention in patients 75 years of age and older was cost effective, according to a recent computer modeling analysis of a large data set. However, even a small increase in adverse events offsets the cardiovascular benefits of this therapy in older patients.
