Acute kidney injury not increased after I.V. contrast media administration in the ED

KEY POINT

Administration of I.V. contrast media to patients in the emergency department (ED) undergoing a computed tomography (CT) scan did not result in an increased risk of acute kidney injury regardless of baseline kidney function, according to results of a single-center, retrospective analysis published online in the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
