Smoking cessation: New data, new guidelines

KEY POINT

Added to nicotine replacement therapy for smoking cessation, nortriptyline failed to improve abstinence rates at 6 or 12 months. Recently released national guidelines provide new and useful information for pharmacists who counsel, coach, and educate patients regarding smoking cessation.
